Today is the first day of my third phase School-Based Experience (SBE), and it is my penultimate SBE before practicum. I rolled into school with my silver Myvi, dressed in a blue flowery kurung and a lovely pink headscarf. The SK Kampong Bukit Management had informed me the day before that today will be held an award ceremony for Year 1 until Year 5 pupils and graduation day for preschool pupils. Soon as I arrived, I was asked by the senior teachers to sell chocolate bouquets and balloons. In just a blink of an eye, all of the items are sold out--hot sales! Then, I give a helping hand by doing a makeover for preschool performers. What caught my eye was when the teachers set up a photo booth for parents to capture the sweet memories of their kids. Anyways, congratulations to all the award recipients and graduates from preschool.

As usual, this school starts the day by reciting surah Yassin from the Holy Quran in the open hall. Afterward,  I had the time to meet the headmaster, Mr. Kaplar to go thru the basic procedure of SBE -- reporting to duty and introducing of myself. Then, I visited the teachers' office. It was so loud outside, to my surprise, the pupils were playing volleyball. From what I know, they were practicing for the upcoming tournaments. Well, I used to be a volleyball player in primary school as well, so I joined to play with them. It was super fun.

Today is emotional as we are having a farewell party for Year 6 pupils that are going to secondary school in the upcoming semester. Before the party, I was helping the other teachers to set up the place and even bring food to the place. The food was a lot!- just name it, sandwiches, chocolate cakes, brownies, nasi minyak, sausages, and more. The farewell party started off with a speech from the headmaster. It starts to be tearjacker when the Year 6 pupils did their performance. It was only three classes-- 6 Amanah, 6 Bestari, and 6 Cemerlang. All of them did a singing performance, the one that makes me shed tears was a performance from 6 Amanah where they sang the nostalgic song "Tentang Bulan". Soon, we started to eat and I take the opportunity to get closer to Year 6 by taking pictures and even making a TikTok with them!

On the fourth day of my SBE-- I take the pleasure of interviewing the student affairs senior assistant (PK HEM). The purpose of the interview is to complete my assignments. Since I had a lot of fun for three days straight, I wanted to get some of my work done by today. After interviewing, I went to the head of the English department (Guru Penatia English) to ask for her advice regarding my lesson plan and everything else that is correlated to my assignments as well. After a while, my friends and I went to the school canteen. The Mee Rebus is unforgettable, it is the best!

The final day of my SBE in my journey to be a teacher. Today we had another farewell party with Year 6 where we gather and talk about the memories they had of 6 years in primary school. What I remember most is when the headmaster said, "To teach is to touch lives forever". This is proven when the pupils said the time they had in primary school will be forever down their memory lane. Likewise, the experiences I had here show me the real life of being a teacher, it is tough but to touch someone's soul is a privilege. I am forever grateful for the profession I am going to have, and I will continue to inspire.
